Once I removed the borders, I have noticed a nice jump in my adsense revenue. Somehow, the click rate on the right top is much higher than that on the lower right side. Can you great minds suggest me some ways to improve the adsense placements on my blog at http://labnol.blogspot.com
Maybe try changing the font colour to the same as the other links on your blog, at the moment they look like black underlined text, and not live links.
Make the adsense ads look brown... keep background white as your existing one. Also under previous posts, you have adsense links, which are bulleted as other topics, probably this is not inline with adsense TOS, just check out with their policies.. I am not pretty sure about that.
Removing border color does help in improving revenue.. I experienced this on my webhostrank website. Also as suggested by nullbit, try changing the color to that of live link.
I'd change the link color to the same as the color your use for your article links. This helped me more than any other thing I've done. You'll see places that tell you to make the links bold colors like yellow, red, etc. That did not work for me. My suggestion would be to make the ads match your content.
I did some changes to the site based on Google Tips. Can you great minds check again http://labnol.blogspot.com
the click through rate is always better were u dont have to scroll to see....what beats me is why the click through rate is better on the right side then the left on my sites
Your changes look great. You should see a nice increase. There are many other factors though. How many options do your visitors have of leaving your page other than adsense? Looks to be a lot. Also, maybe you filter the ads that are being shown to only show high paying ads.... It can go on and on, but you are pointed in the right direction.
Jeremyalyea - How do I recongnize high paying ads ? Recently I see lot of ads related to blog hosting and RSS readers on my technology weblog. How well do they pay. Is there a URL filter list available for download anywhere ? Thanks to this forum, my new design is really paying me well. Touchwood.
I also would like to know How do you promote a BLOG to get traffic. Mine gets maybe 50 folks a month. Ive submitted it to 4 blog exchanges, over 10 blog directories and have a news feed on it, and still hardly no traffic. Like 'Maverick' I also would appreciate some tips. also - To anyone - Please explain a sites PR and how you can tell it ? Thanks
Umm... it depends. You might have did a lot of link exchange, and have inbound links for your blog. And your blog exists since long, so there is a good possibility to have good PR with regular SEOing. does it come close?
I guess my high PR is because of a good number of inbound links. And I also comment a lot on other blogs. So that indirectly brings me traffic.
I see most folks say they do the best with adsense ads that have removed the borders and make em blend, but yet this main forum, when I load in a page anyway, the ads always have borders, and don't blend in any with the sites content......... So who is right, lol to blend or to be bright and look like an ad ?
