Hello, to build shetoldme.com I used Drupal CMS with the drigg module and then for the adsense revenue sharing I coded it, I didn't use the adsense module, but probably you can use it. Then I used the user referral module for the referral part, but then I also had to code the part which gives referrers more adsense display on the scoops of their referrals.

After for promotion, it's true that it is the hardest part because there are already many digg-like sites, but with a referral program such as mine, you will have to recruit for 2-3 months and then the first users will write good articles about your site in order to get referrals, so after you're ok.
But to get the ball rolling, I invested about $1000 over the first 2-3 months for reviews on blogs/sites which cater for a bloggers/webmasters audience, so that the ad/review will generate new users.

That's about it, I was able to recover my promotion money in less time than anticipated (I planned on 10 months, but it was beneficial after only 4 months)
but be prepared to stick to your site for up to a year before you can be satisfied with the traffic/money.

Now I spend time only processing the application queue (beware of automatic accounts creation and spam, it can kill your site in google search) and in overseeing the new content posted, if it doesn't violate adsense rules.

    Good luck with your project.

if you want to use the adsense revenue sharing API yes you need a lot of traffic to apply for an account, a developper key, but if you only do adsense revenue sharing by yourself, by chaging the adsense id, then you don't need any minimum of traffic.

According to me all are fake and they don't give you money as adsense can.

Hey Man, do understand the quest. Here only adsense is giving the money. The problem is how to get a working website which shares this money to those who are responsible for bringing traffic, that is the writers.

If you say so Aryans. Your opinion is enough, no need to back it up with facts, we believe you.

I believe you SENSERELY, I started my article directory (on my signature) with revenue sharing 3 months ago and it's earn me money, not HUGE but sufficient to cover my basic needs. Willing to invest more time and money for that. FYI, your site is one of my role model. Nice to know you here and looking for some advice from you :)

basal952 I HIGHLY recommend you to implement a referral system in your site, it will really boost your exposure on the web since articles submitters are members in several such platforms, they will write original (and positive) articles about your site in all other platforms and on their own blogs.
Other members on those platforms will read the advices and will register on your site.

Invest time to code a referral system.
