AdSense Revenue Growth

My friend Pushkar asked me this afternoon to help him forecast AdSense revenue growth.

My first thought was "No way! It's impossible! There are too many variables!"

But then I thought... over time... the variables somewhat even out.

So, I charted AdSense revenue growth over the last four and half years.

    Average Monthly Revenue Growth
    • 2004 - 65%
    • 2005 - 10%
    • 2006 - 7%
    • 2007 - 5%
    • 2008 -13.26%
These numbers assume that you are working full-time on your sites. I wasn't working full-time on this stuff, but my part-time is pretty equal to most other peoples full-time.

These numbers also assume that you are reinvesting 10 to 20% of profits.

I hope this helps someone. :)

It's like what you've said, Too many variables. Economic factors, change in google's rules (previously the whole ad unit is clickable but today only the titles) but nevertheless the date provides a crude representation based on actual experiences.

    Take 2004 away...

    10% average is damn cool!

If you start with $100 and use that average on a 36 months period you have (PER MONTH)

    Month1 - 100
    Month36 - $2.810

Now if you start with $500... you have $14.000

Well, get your calc and start acting fast without dreaming too much. :D

That's a bit of a different topic. There really are no secrets to AdSense success.

AdSense revenue is Traffic * CTR.

    CTR is Design * Niche.

Design is Placement + Fonts + Colors.

    Traffic is Content * Links.

    So...

    AdSense success = ((Content * Links) * (Niche) * (Placement + Fonts + Colors)) :)

Hmnn interesting thread. I think what it does state is that if you know your stuff that you can make money out of adsense but that all Publishers took a hit last year with the famous slap but that those who knew what they were doing and had more then one tactic could cope.

    Well done and congrats

I'm just hopeful that this data will be useful in helping others with business planning. :)

Some months I got lucky and revenue growth was fantastic; other months I didn't get so lucky. Over time, those bumps should average out and give a realistic picture of what is possible.

    Hi!

Thanks a lot for your tips. I will incorporate your suggestions.

Could you guide me how to increase my PR. My site is SEO optimized and has 12,500 Links but my PR is just 1.

    What could be wrong ?.
