Adsense revenue from other language sites

Lets say i create 4 blogs on 'pet grooming'.

One of them (the main one) is written in english and I put adsense on it to earn money from it.

Can I have the postings of that blog translated into french, german and spanish and then just cut and paste the translated postings into 3 other sites respectively and then earn adsense income from those other language blogs?

Or is google able to detect duplicate content even if the content is translated into another language?

My guess is that it cannot since the number of ways an article can be translated is very different. It is very subjective.

    Thoughts?

I have translated my site to Japanese, Chinese and Taiwanese.
Google has ranked my sites well and hasn't penalised me.
The Chinese site now receives more traffic than my other sites put together and its growing at 50% a month! Amazing!

"In today's world, there are 508,000,000 English-speaking people
    and 1,052,000,000 Chinese-speaking people."

I don't know what google's policy is on this but its makes sense that you should be able to have the same content in different languages.

My post on this is here:

    This should work.

    What are translation costs?

What is the 2nd most popular language on the World Wide Web?

The overhead in detecting duplicate content across languages would be awesome, I really doubt this would be remotely possible for them to do.

It would be pointless aswell, many companies setup multiple sites to cater for different languages and just translate the content to that language, why would there be any sort of penalty?

Tanslating into chinese and japanese would certainly be of interest.
How much would something like that cost I wonder ?

I have no idea how much it would cost.. but at least it would be a one time cost, whereas the adsense revenue would be recurring over time.

but the translation cost may become quite large especially if constantly new translations are needed...

Probably better to have all the translation done at once instead of piecemeal.
