Never used the affiliate program much but they must have been losing a ton of money or they were getting alot of scammers or low quality signups.
Ya, I saw that/. Hopefully they change their mind. Coverage: http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/01/08/adsense-slaps-foreign-webmasters-in-the-face/ http://www.problogger.net/archives/2008/01/09/adsense-change-rules-stupidity-stupidity-stupidity/
I've made a bit of money from using it. Not much, but it all ads up. The only thing that I can think of is that if they remove it then I will remove them from my site. After all I have been helping them, but if they don't appreciate that then I will not help them gain more referrals. Afterall, getting them more publishers is only increase Adsense publishers overall which means less money to go around from the higher paying advertisers. I personally can't see how the rest of the world is giving poor referrals apart from them chosen Countries. The bad thing with Google is that they include their ads in their own codes on everyones sites anyway, so they most probably now feel that they can get more referrals for free and therefore don't need to pay out thousands of pounds on paying for referral signups.
