Out of all the adsense referral's out there (meaning firefox, adwords, etc) What converts best for you? Also is it banners or text links? Maybe both? Also what is the niche of your website? This is something I plan to start getting into quite heavily, and would like to see what's worked, and what... hasn't
The best for me is the Google Searchbox. The ads displayed in Google Search are very dominate so it makes it easier for visitors to click on them. I noticed to earn a bit more money after installing Google Search on my site. It is also a good way to search for stuff within your site without having to use your own search system that requires server resources.
Well I tried referrals, but didn't have much luck. It's best if you can write an entire article about the referral product. Like an article about why firefox with google toolbar is so great, then throw it in at the end. People who just throw one of the buttons on the sidebar are unlikely to ever get a single click. As far as what has worked for me, the only product I've ever gotten a sale on was firefox, which I pulled after 2 days because it was a waste of space =]. But it's always worth trying something new.
Most of my sites are about gaming, so referrals don't work at all for me. I've had one conversion with them after I tried it for a few weeks, which was the Firefox referral.
i do very well with FF referrals.. it helps if your site is somehow realated to technology... then, integrate the referral with your content and it can earn quite a bit.. i "invented" a method/technique for doing this that works so well, Google uses it in their FF Referral help pages..
once tried adsense referal. never tried FF. fact is, i cant capture user in this segment, although i running hosting review networks. fact is, lots of user are using FF online today, and guess many had make tonnes of cash frm that. bet you are as well
From everything I've read and experienced, the only referrals that "works" are the ones that are tailored for your site. If you have an affiliate site, Google Adwords/Adsense should work. If you have an Internet/Computer site, Firefox referrals should work, etc. You can't really slap a Firefox button or an Adsense button on a celebrity blog and wonder why you're not getting any ferrals.
I've only used the firefox referral code so I'm biased... it's good for general audiences (that are savvier than average).
I just started a few days ago with Adsense referrals. I'm getting like 1 subscription/day so I will let you know if someone converts (thus becoming a $5.00 click and with lots of luck a $250 click)
Yeah, describe the product and tell your visitors why they should download it or tell them what it is useful for. This way you should get more downloads/conversions than if you just place a referral button/banner. To get good results the products you are referring should suit your site's theme.
FireFox referrals were big with one of my anti virus sites. All I had to do was write an article on why FF is better than IE and I got 20-30 downloads. At $1/DL it was doing pretty good.
