Is it okay to adjust the adsense referral code? For example, can I put a link for adsense firefox referral in a forum, and not my website, and have people download it.

You can not change the code that google gives you. You can take that code and put it anywhere you want though, in a forum OR website. But when you go through the whole setup thing and it gives you the code at the end, you can not change it.

Yea I know. I am talking specifically about referrals.

For example the link to referral button for picasa is:
    http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/...........

Can I post in a forum or another website: "Download Picasa" and just add the referral link.

i do understand what you mean but it's against Adsense TOS

however, you can use text link format which you can find in your account cp

note that the link you copy from any adsense ad has certain codes that tells google info about the click (website/time/date) and other stuff

imagine a click on 7 DEC 2006 recorded as 1 DEC 2006, you will be making odds and you will be banned

one more thing, if this forum isn't yours, you might end up adding 2 adsense IDS in the same page and this will be another TOS violation

    NO...NO...NO...Period.

No messing up with the code. Thousands had said about this. They are not idiots. Dummies probably. Dummies are learning things daily. Idiots are too proud to do so.
