40% of my earnings goes with my referral ads! It will surely be sad for me. But not that much, because I'll just repalce the referral ads to another ad company.
I'll really miss firefox referrals which was actually making me a decent living, I guess I will leave google now, whats a good alternative? I roughly pull 1000 ctr/day (thats including the referral prog)
"Riddens"? Really? Try riddance. All of them. Many will reappear in the DoubleClick system (you need to apply to join it), but the Google related ones are all being retired. Yes, it does. This sucks for me. I'm making $xxxx/month just from Google Pack referrals (and a little bit from Firefox). It's a relatively small piece of my earnings, but I'm still quite sad to see it go...
I am sure it is only the third party referrals. They won't include the google pack and firefox referrals in the said Retirement, no? They have been doing firefox and google pack way before they started the referral program.. Actually, CPA's work better with people who are more experienced with affiliate marketing and they chose CJ, Neverblueads and azoogle etc over google referrals.. and the referral ads in adsense like units doesn;t work in many sites... Affilates are a whole different game, and google knows it.
yes sad news. But for me it is not. The main slot of referral program for me was adsense which was allready retired in the month january for Indian Publisher
Does anyone know a good alternative? Making $1 per US FireFox install is huge for me and loosing that is a big blow. Is there ANYTHING out the comparable to this? I need to know in the next 6 weeks!
The commissions on AdSense Referrals were terrible. I considered running it on a niche website of mine that runs an affilate program earning $25/sign-up, but the companies in Referrals would only give me $2.00! Google needs to stick to what it's good at. Between Checkout's slow adoption and the end of Referrals, maybe they will learn to play their cards where they can win.
Well Google referrals add program will no longer be functional after August, But one can still manually select the ads on their site using the Google Affiliate Network. Google has aquired www.performics.com - A company that offers online ad serving and management technology to advertisers, web publishers and ad agencies.
Well i guess that is a downturn for people who earned a high percentage from referrals. I stopped using it a few months ago as it is too bothersome and generates inconsistent earnings.
Ah.... They are only consolidating their affiliate offerings with doubleclick.. Similar to the AdSense Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. If you currently use referrals, either to promote Google products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, we encourage that you take the following steps before the product is retired: * Remove all referral code from your site(s)
