Adsense randomly displays unrelevant ads

Hi, I have a little problem and is wondering if you guys could help out a bit. My adsense ads are going crazy, sometimes it would display the right contents and other times it would display very unrelevant stuff. My site is about movies/games/music/ect. But it always randomly put on ads about "self-defense, pepper spray,self-defense classes,woman self-defense,relationships,ect". I don't know whats going on, I have nothing on my page that says self-defense but this subject is very popular for the ads on my page. I'd appreciated if anyone could help.

Sometimes Google does that. Usually if there's a word close to the ads you're running. Like I have my RSS button close to the footer, where I have AdSense, and it shows "RSS" ads.
If you don't have keywords about it though, not sure what's going on. How old is your site? When did you implement AdSense? Google usually takes a day or two to get more relevant ads.

 

It's happen to me too,but I'm not sure it'll seen by the other.

You can block them out in the AdSense controls, but I'd focus on keywords and where your ads are placed, thats the only thing that sucks about contextual ads .

 

when its totally random like that, its not a problem with the targeting... i think that it's done like that on purpose.

file a complaint with adsense support, but make sure that you send them a screen grab of the problem as proof... when they fail to correct it, insist that they send your problem up to the next level of support.

 

You said your site is about movies, I bet that the next scenario is happening to you.

Example: You have movies reviews on the site. One of the review is for Die Hard 4, in the review it's explained how an actor is handling his pepper spray with special effects all around him. Because pepper spray is there in the text, Google will sometimes serve ads for pepper sprays.

There are some ways around this but you will need to put some work into it.

 

I've tried everything I know but it will still randomly display unrelevant ads.

I still think it's because of the reviews although I looked at them and seemed relevant to me.

 

It happens to me a few times, but I don't say anything about it because the irrelevant ads look pretty decent and clickable.

 

I'm at a dead end here, anyone that can tell me what is wrong with my site and show me how to fix it, I will sent a payment of $20 to your Paypal account. Its always the home page, either unrelevant ads or public anouncements, the movies page is a bit better but sometimes its wrong. The only page I see working perfectly is my games/music page, it'll have relevant ads 99% of the time.
