Adsense question?

    Hey guys,

just a quick question. I have a list of most expensive keywords . So like a top one is $77 per click.
Now question is this: Lets say you have a site that is optimised for this keyword. And its a quality blog. Not like MFA blog. But good one. What sort of % of this keyword ( costs advertisers $77 to bid on) can you expect to get. Like is it 10% or.. more or less. Or does it not work like that at all?

    Many thanks in advance.

Google never mentioned that there was a 50/50 split in revenues, so having "expensive" keywords on your page doesn't mean that it will bring you a lot of money.

But i had an impression that the keywords that cost a lot to bid on will pay you highest per click. ? is that the case?

Obviously you are talking about Google AdSense click prices. Google does pay the most for the keywords that cost the most to bid on.

I don't really think it is worthwhile just targeting a keyword because it has a high click price. Those are often some of the most competitive keywords. Unless you are very good at seo and have lots of patience, you won't get much traffic from that keyword. What percentage of traffic you can get depends on many factors...your skill, your links, link profiles of top ranked websites, onpage optimization of your site and competitor sites, etc.

You are much better off building a website around a topic that really interests you. Even if the bid price is low, you would stand a better chance of building up traffic and revenue. Some topics will really motivate you and others may put you to sleep.

    Ok thanks for your reply.
I would have a source of very higly tageted traffic. And cheap. Like under $5 i could get extremely target traffic( 1000 uv) .

Would google be ok with this kind of traffic?

It definately higher than other low pay keyword but frankly speaking it is very hard to get $7 per click, you might get $1~$2 per click since there are still some other ads display at your site

$77 per click - it's a joke to apply it.

like i dont woant to give terms that pay that much but for an instance go to : https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and search a term : student loan consilidation and you'll see it costs like over $40 to click on.

So there are some keywords that cost a crazy amount to bid on.
