Adsense Products - Can someone explain?

I was browsing through my Adsense account and forgot about the new Google Products advertisements. I was wondering if someone could explain to me exactly how Adsense Products works? Does it work exactly like Adsense for content (PPC)? Or do you have to get someone to click the ad then do something else as well? It seems like to me that the Adsense products in the referral program have better ads to display. Thanks in advanced!

The referral program works on a paid for action process. You know, they buy or sign up for something...

as ugly said, its PPA- Pay per action. The action can be a signup/form fillup or sale.

Remember the ads are now country targetted.

Thanks for the replies guys. So, I was browsing the "Entertainment" referral ads and noticed that a lot of those ads contained the ads such as "Love Test." The ones where you have to answer questions to see what level of love you are or whatever. What you're saying is with PPA, I would get paid for how many people complete that form and find out their level of love?

It seems like a lot more work for the people clicking advertisements, but does it pay out better? I have an entertainment like site (fansite) that's getting pretty decent traffic. Right now I'm running adsense for content and with 5 clicks I got only .70 cents. Do you think the adsense referral products would do better on a fansite/entertainment like site?

it could do better. Test it out for some days but mind you, it may have adverse effect on you content earnings since if you get clicks on referrals but no conversion, those clicks are waste.

Thanks godmode, I'll test them out tomorrow and set up some channels to track them.

Also, one last question. Do the Adsense referral products count towards your limit of 3 adsense ads appearing on a page? Or can I have 3 adsense for content + an adsense referral product on my page?

you can actually check out which referral ads to serve on your website. The easiest referrals are for free products or where you get a free trial or something like that. I would serve up those.
