On my website http://www.financenewstoday.com I have adsense running on each page template - the home page, sub pages, calculator pages, and article pages. In addition I am running adsense in my new resource directory, blog, and forum. These were just added in the last month. I had over 7400 in=mpressions last month with about 4.3% conversion which isn't bad at all, but I still feel it could be better. I have had sites in the past with as high as 13-15% CTR. Do you guys have any suggestions as to placement, etc to increase the CTR?
On a page like this: http://www.financenewstoday.com/debt/budgeting/article_index.php?pg=ShowArticle&aID=43 I would try moving the ads to the left side, and the content on the right. When I did this on my sports site recently, my CTR skyrocketed compared to what it was before, and my amount per day(though not a lot to begin with) tripled.
Very nice site...congratulations... Check this page...It doesnt look good on Opera.... financenewstoday.com/investing/mutualfunds/article_index.php?pg=ShowArticle&aID=137
Along the lines of what PFCritics stated, I would mirror image (left to right) the layout of the site. I think doing this would cause a significant increase in your CTR. You might also take the third AdSense ad unit and place it at the end of the article instead of at the bottom of the menu bar. Often times I find that a large block AdSense ad at the end of articles has the highest CTR of all ad positions.
On the main page you have only button ad in 1st scroll.. I hope by incresing the size of the ad to say large rectangle will gie increase in your CTR.
i noticed in the box titled National Financial News you have a adsense ad right below it. you might want to consider renaming that since your not allowed to lable ads anything else besides advertisements and sponserd links or nothing at all as long as no title is right above it
