We have a fairly popular Android App that is lightly monetizing through Google Adsense.

In analyzing the following Columns in Performance Reports: Ad Unit, Ad Requests, Coverage, Clicks, CPC and Earnings

728x15 Ad Unit vs 468x60 Ad Unit
50,945 Ad Requests vs 44,147 Ad Requests
    16.78% Coverage vs 99.98% Coverage
    1,225 Clicks vs 342 Clicks
    .06 CPC vs .19 CPC
    $71 Earnings vs $65 Earnings

With this sample size is there anything glaringly obvious that we should focus on? Discrepancy in Clicks raise any flags? Does Coverage matter here?

    Thanks!

I didn't know you could have a 728x15 ad for mobile..
But from looking at those stats, if it comes from a A/B testing, then of course I would pick the 468x60 ad unit.

Thanks for the feedback! Our App is pulling pages from our domain so we have an inline CSS that minimizes the Ad dimensions. We are still playing with the different Ad units.

We currently have the 468x60 Ad located at the END of Page. Do you believe creating a Top Placement 468x60 Ad would be advantageous over the 728?

I thought adsense publishers who wanted to display adsense in an app HAD to sign up on admob, and couldn't use normal adsense or even mobile adsense.

Me for an app I would use simply the 468x60 size, I think it is this size, but for mobile, so maybe smaller.

But honestly I haven't done anything in mobile adsense, I have done only one site specifically for mobiles, then I used adsense mobile, for several months, and now I've removed the ad which was performing so poorly anyway and I let the site up but next time I feel like cleaning things, this site will go down.

So my opinion is not based on experience at all of mobile devices, just take it like that and wait to talk more with people with mobile advertizing experience.

I'm of course like many people and more every month, thinking about doing sites (not app yet) for mobile devices, I see in some of my sites, phone and tablets amount to 10% of the traffic, I think it is really time to get into it. :)
