I have deposit my cheque in Citibank India of xxxx.xx dollars on 27 jan and got the cheque cash on 14 feb but they charges me around 5% of total cheque value (which quit big - xxx.xx). So when I ask them (citibank india ) they said that Citibank of India does not charges anything, this is charged by Citibank N.Y. Can anybody tell me can this is possible (Can Citibank N.Y. Charged) or should I ask the google about that.

contact them again. The Banks do not charge money to cash 'em. They charged you what they call "International Check Clearance" charges. Their charges are hefty.

It's your local branch or the one that has the Forex department charged, not Citibank NY.

Citibank charged me also but my cheque was not that big.
When i contacted them they said they charge approximately 50$ if cheque is above 1000$ as clearing charges.

But they are saying that citibank India does not charge for international Check (or if charges then it is around 0.1% of cheque value). They are saying that citibank N.Y branch has charged you.

Any Bank charges you since they the cheque is in $
If its paid in Rupees then they pay on par.
They charge for many things ie Delivery expenses ie clearing one and other is difference in Exchange rates

If you are regularly getting checks then there may be 2 reasons forthis change:
    1. Manager is Simply blaming the other branch
    2. 1000$+ Cheque may have more charges

I recieved my adsense check for earnings accumulated from my sites. Since i live outside the US my local bank told me the check would clear in 26 days

When the payments cleared i realise that the amount sent to my account was less by $150. I complain to my bank and they tell me that google sent them that amount of money.

I write to adsense complaining about this and i recieve a reply that they are working on it. one week down the line and they havent communicated back. I write to them again and they reply that they sent the full amount and do not know how the $150 got lost.

I go back to the bank and they say that its google who sent the amount less the $150 dollars.

I dont know who is telling the truth here. anyone with such an experience? this is the first time this has happened to me

I would call the bank and get a copy of the statement and then email that to Google (which should have the reference on). They should be able to cross reference that ref number on the payment and see where the problem is.

don't worry if it is google's fault - they should correct it in the next payment cycle. however, I can't say the same thing about your bank though :)
