What is your strategy on a page that brings great amount of traffic to your site, but the earnings from that page are horrible? I hate to mess with the page and screw up the SEO because of the traffic it's bringing into the site, but the adsense earnings from that page are terrible right now. I saw that someone had posted a website for making adsense type ads. I've tried looking for it here, but couldn't find it. Maybe someone could point me to it if they have the time. I was thinking of trying this with links to higher paying adsense pages - to funnel the traffic, so to speak. Is it possible to use javascript to pull in these "adsense type" ads so Google doesn't see any changes in the page structure?
Well, from what I have learnt, if you site is boring and not what people were searching for, the higher the click through rate. I'm not sure if that'll help you out?
Sometimes, the keywords that you want to rank well for and generate traffic are not the same as the ones you want to earn money from. For example: my gaming website gets lots of impressions but typical gaming ads don't pay out much. Tweaking the keywords towards gaming computers has helped increase my revenues. Here are some other tips: blending section targetting relevant and keyword rich outbound links fresh traffic (repeat visitors don't click much) read this thread for more advice Another thought is dump your adsense on that page, and direct the high traffic to links to other (higher paying) pages on your site. If you can attract and keep your visitors, then this technique may work better for you. Hope that helps, Cryo.
I too am in the game website group where the adverts pay next to nothing yet I have all the web traffic in the world. So tweaking the target keywords to buying computers and accessories helps out hey?
Well, think about it: PC vendors are try to sell something, often of high value. Therefore their ads will pay higher than any ads for 'Free Games', etc. Have a think about what other subjects will interest gamers and pay higher (and then let me know )
Usually, if one of your main keywords or phrases contains the word "free" you'll get great traffic but poor revenue from ads -- either because your visitors found everything they wanted (free) on your site, or because ads for free stuff are typically not high-paying ads -- typically.
