Adsense ought to be government regulated

Hey don't u think adsense ought to be government regulated. I mean most adsense users are putting real life work into it sometimes even sacrificing their time and money. Nobody except Google really knows why an account is banned seriously. Most users got earnings for free but what about people who invest money and then got their account banned. It doesn't seem a square deal there.

If you don't like AdSense, don't use it. There are alternatives.

But i feel adsense will be completely ruined like most organizations which are under govt.. Today trend is changing privatization is the need of hour and you are saying completely different :)
Though in some countries like France/ Germany it will be in best interest of people but what about my country [ i am from India] :D

well a lot of novices are thinking adsense is their angel or something and they are thinking they can earn $1000 just by planting links in forums and msn chat. I prefer to think it as a money tool or business and something to be taken seriously not like a free church, where if you don't like it buzz off.

Plenty of alternatives to adsense these days, good ones at that. I used to be AdSense dependant until last year when I got banned myself, for having two accounts on the same IP (mine and my brothers). Now I found out I could've been making more money all along with other ad networks/rev methods :D

Great idea! The United States could also become a Communist country.

Google is first and foremost a business. They have very specific terms and policies that you agree to when you become a publisher. If you do not agree with them, do not use them. They have every right to terminate your account at any point in accordance with their terms. Why would the Government need to regulate a company?

I don't like McDonald's, it makes me fat. Lets have the Government take over! We know things will be done much better.

what, you think that google is deliberately banning honest publishers? why would they do that?

do you really think that a government agency is going to not ban any accounts?

well i just want to add this thread is in direct response to the "serious risk to advertiser" letter without further explanation.I have read many such letters so I assume they are true. Can you explain what is going on down there if some of u claim all the rules are clearly stated in TOS cuz I don't want to get such a letter?

LOL! what a wild thought. govt. has lot better things to do than regulating google's adsense program.

i agree! big mac is getting smaller and smaller and i think govt should force macdonalds to make bigger big macs :D

Adsense is a money tool and a business for Google. You have choices...you can work for someone else ( Google) or you can work for yourself which means selling private ads or starting your own ad agency.

its funny how some ppl compare adsense which in small amount involves a few hundreds to a burger which cost a few bucks. well most of us are still confused by the "risk to advertiser" letter. what other alternatives do we have? the other ppc are even worse than adsense. my earnings in kontera and bidvertiser can disappear if i left it for a few months whereas adsense is more stable.

I agree with this one if the big G is taken over by any government entity. But that is not the case and any enterprise under the government will loose its competitiveness and ruin the tax payers money ;)

Have you considered the fact that maybe PPC is not the way to monetize then? It's also very niche-dependant. AdSense performs on awesome standards on some niches, but fails to deliver on many others.

Imo, AdSense is either for the small guy starting out or for the big dogs that get to have premium Google Ads on their website. The "middle" people are better off with other networks.

It's neither big not important enough to be government regulated. This is Internet advertising, not Cattle/Steel/Oil.
Not to mention that there are a LOT of alternatives.

If the internet was as heavily regulated as other industries, you wouldn't just be able to walk in with your free website and start making money.

Believe it or not, business regulations typically hurt the little guy the most because they don't have the resources to jump through all of the hoops and paperwork some bureaucrat can think of.
