Adsense or product??

Ok, Yahoo bumped up my site and now I have a great spot for the keyword "acne".

Right now my site just has some information about acne and some adsense banners. I'm getting 200 targeted unique visitors per day. My ctr is very nice... but I don't know if I should just leave it like that, or change it and put up some affiliate product.

    What do you recomend?

Depending on how much you earn now with adsense. I checked CJ Advertisers and for "Acne" products the average was 33 EPC (USD), that is 0,33 $ / click. I think it would be a good thing to give it a try. You can run CJ and Adsense in the same time, it's not agains the adsense TOS.

Thanks, but I don't want to promote CJ, they suck. Actually, I don't want to join any of those networks. isn't there some vendor that has his own product? Have any of you promoted clickbank books? I see a few about acne, but don't know if it is worth it.

CJ is great acctually unlike the other network linkshare. They are on top of business and make me respectable amount of money plus you know your in good hands. But generally u should stick to Adsense because a acne products arent that much money to get % on. Adsense is more steady

If you want to make real money you have to be proactive.
Don't wait for CJ's of the world to share ....
contact selling companies in that area and ask....
specifically companies that go it themselves and may be open to a bit help..
    I would try people like
    http://www.acnevention.com/

If they have an official affiliate pgm you have to share with others,
and a lot have "silent" pgms where you only get to when asking or being reffered. They don't want the "rif raf" to share in their success.

The only problem with going with a small unknown company is that it will take much more convincing for anyone to buy. When you go with a large company they already have advertising, branding and are much easier to sell... for the same price would you buy something you saw on tv like "proactiv solution" or some unknown mom and pop acne-be-gone spray?

... don't be mislead some companies are neither small nor unknown but simply don't engage in the affiliate racketeering.

... if they are small and unknown BUT the product seems sensible and may have some decent research behind it what have you got to loose...
..pick 10 of those one is going to be a winner and you're in....

Sorry but CJ's and that ilk is for the masses not for the specialists....

Check if comprar is still around years ago he had an on-lin pharma with direct affiliation he may still have it.

I've had success doing both - sell products (affiliate or direct) and have Adsense. I tried one or the other and having both has proven (at least for me) to be more profitable.

I have clients who are successful at both as well. You don't have to choose. If you're enrolled under an affiliate program, simply minimize the inclusion of your affiliate links and all will be well with Google.

Google just disapproves of "excessive advertising." They never defined what "excessive" means, but surely, two or three affiliate links should not fall under such category.

    Good luck!

Why does it have to be one or the other? Do both. Those uninterested in the affiliate program you are trying to presell have adsense as an exit route.
