Hi guys!. I'm trying to launch a site about intenet telephony and such and i'm currently in the link development phase. I've been wondering about the CO-OP for a long time now cause i get mixed signals from the threads. Basically i'd like to know:

    1. If I add coop to my site as of 7-31-06, will my site be indexed or penalized by google?
    2. If i'm penalized by google and wont get indexed, does the coop provide substantial traffic to outweight the losses?. I know that the more ad space i provide for the coop... the more chances i get to increase weight/traffic (pls correct me if i'm wrong here! :))
3 Has anyone experienced a serp boost from Yahoo and/or MSN by using Coop?
    4. And to finalize, is it ok to run adsense with the coop code in the same page...or any other affiliate program for that matter/?....any comments or experiencess?

    I'll comment on #2 and #4.

If Google won't index you, that site won't get any weight. The CO-OP bases your weight off that site's (non-supplemental) pages in Google's index, and no other search engine.

AdSense can be run on the same pages where CO-OP ads appear. There are no affiliate programs or networks that I'm aware of which do not allow CO-OP ads. As always, check with your individual affiliate agreements to be safe.

Well i guess the question is "Will my site get indexed properly if i add the coop to it...or penalized?" ... i know this is an advertising tool and not a serp manipulation network but ive read many threads of sites being penalized and loosing all the weigth they had acquired because of google's algo changes.

I dont want to add something to my site which in turn will cause its downfall...

I guess the algo of the coop have been evolved now, it doest not base on total index page any more there are other factor now to get weight. And I guess it's not very helpful now to increase your back link and will not help you to get index, it's not as effective as before because user now can put a nofollow option so that bot will not follow those links.

adding co-op to your site isn't going to stop it from being indexed. If someone has proof of this I would like to know. I have heard others claim drops in the serps but never de-indexing or lack of getting indexed at all.

I was pointing about 20k to a website and got over 400 uniques per month. That's not too much, but it's a bonus if you use it for seo purposes mostly.
