I would like to hear your tips and observations on adsense optimization. Maybe we will be able to compile some kind of rules or guidelines at the end of this thread.
I'll start with few paradoxal observations,
    1. best click conversion are generated:
    a) by pages with small or no content,
    b) by pages with absolutelly not related content.

How about this: pages with a "tease" of content that makes the visitor click on ads that are related to the content being teased.

    ;)

    As always, IMO.

adsense can be incorporated in the article. It can be done pretty good so the visitor can think it's integral part of the article.

    a) by pages with small or no content,
    b) by pages with absolutelly not related content.

    a) more content is better on my site
    b) the adsense ads I get are always quite well related to content. I don´t get unrelated ads - and I wouldn´t want them.

Note. I changed my ads recently to the blended style and though I had misgivings at first, I think this has been the single most effective change I´ve ever made as far as maximising AS goes.

    imo...

make the ad the focus and put the content around it.

pull the best targeted ads with url & meta tags.

thats if your purely out for $.

How small? All my pages have content - none less than a couple of paragraphs. Where I have a lot of content as opposed to a few paraas, I find the return better.

Small enough to fit half screen. If you have bigger article it's always good to split it to more pages.

Interesting effect is achieved if you cut the article in the middle of thought and put adsense right bellow. ;)

    What about adsense color?
Is it better for you to have adsense colors to fit in your site colors scheme or you prefer to have stand out colors?

I think that both variants can achive good results in different strategies. For example if you would like to trick user to think it's integral part of your site you will camouflage it (similar colors).

I put adsense ads on download page and articles page. Guess what, from the download page I got >300 clicks and from the article page I got <10 clicks.

Reason - people go to your article page to read and while reading they just scroll down.
But people go to download page to download some file, and in order to download, they have to clicks.

Well, I'm no expert, but the way the adsense is set up at http://store.fairytaleendeavorsbridals.com/ is brilliant to me. As I looked through the site I found it difficult to not click on the ads as a shopper. It's FTEGal's site.

The ads are very well integrated into her product pages.
