Adsense open in new tab using doubleClick for Publishers

    So I heard you can make it so adsense opens in a new tab when clicked if it's served through DoubleClick for Publishers. Is there a guide on how to do this?
    Each time I try, and load the page with just the code to serve the ad it just says 'Widgets Magazine' in the tab and its a blank screen.

    doubleclick for publishers is googles program and it has function to open add in new tab, you said that google makes things against his own TOS? :D :D

    I don't understand why it should be? If an ad opens in a new tab I personally would be more likely to look at it. If it opens in the same window and I want to keep on reading or doing what I was doing on the site I clicked the ad on I would wish to do so and just hit back button. But if the ad opens in a new tab I can finish on the site and then head over to the new tab to look at the advertiser's website.

    It does not matter. It is against the terms and conditions, so you can't do it!

    Maybe there is a misunderstanding here..

    Honestly, i've come across websites that serve google ads and when i clicked those ad it open up on new tab..

    Then they are non-compliant and will be disabled as soon as adsense detects them or they get reported.

    Hi there,

    Do you have experience using doubleclick for publisher before? If i'm not mistaken, when we set up a new ad campaign unit on doubleclick for publisher we have option to set how the ads will react when people click on it. The last time i checked there's two option _top & _blank. What i remember is when we set the new unit to _blank, the ad will open up on the new window/tab.
