Does anyone see a lower amount of revenue per click on the weekend then on the weekdays. I have noticed this on my sites and probably know the answer, but I am wondering if this is just my sites or something that happens on alot of sites.

Every saturday and sunday my internet traffic drops almost by half compared to weekdays - so yes I always see a weekend drop in clicks, and earnings with adsense. Most folks are outside or doing activities on the weekend, instead of wasting time on the computer.

I see a 30 - 40 % Drop in my traffic on weekends and this is the case with most of the webmasters.

Mine stays more or less the same, but it will depend largely on your site. If your site is themed to a more "work orientated" topic, you will see higher traffic in the week.

Guys, he is asking "earnings per click" not your traffic :)

My EPC remains same as the other days, but like everyone else, traffic goes down.

    Here's a few reasons:

    1. I for one, pause my adwords on weekends because I know if I don't, I'll get a ton of residential calls from homes and I don't want to service people in their homes. With my main business, I deal with B2B only.

    2. You must remember that this is a long weekend. Lots of people are celebrating Thanksgiving up here in Canada this weekend, so you'll probably see a good drop in traffic since We've got approx 20% of the population you have in the USA - it does make a dent.

    3. And yes, generally I'll receive about 20-40% less revenue on the weekends. Hey, but at least it's working and not complaining about slave driving :). Plus, we don't have to pay holiday pay to Adsense :)

Earnings is direcly proportional to traffic. If traffic goes down so will your earnings...

Crusader, I know earnings is directly proportional to traffic. But, "Earnings per click" is not directly propotional to traffic. This is what I meant :p Hope you get my point :)

I know what you meant. The thing is it's extremely debatable.... a short and sweet answer would be depending on your target visitors (thus your advertisers) you might/might not see a drop in earnings per click. ;)

So far this weekend, I'm seeing CPC going well up - a bit unusual.
Traffic on one of my sites is well down, but that's not unusual for a weekend.

Now see my traffic does not go down neither do my clicks on ads, just the revenue that I receive. That is the strangest part. This leads me to believe the advertisers that are being placed on weekends pay a lower rate than those that are targeted to the weekday surfers.

Lower traffic on weekends, but my CPC and CTR are not significantly different than the weekdays.

Well, it will depend on the subject of your site. Advertisers that target businesses will of course pay more for ads during the week to ensure they get noticed, as opposed to the few sorry businessmen that spend their weekends searching for stuff... ;)

The highest percentage of internet use typically occurs at the workplace, and that's the reason that traffic is strongest during the week and then drops off during the weekends and on holidays.

To answer your question I notice about a 20% revenue drop on weekends, although from time to time that number changes based on (possibly) new advertisers bidding on those keywords over the weekend and strarting a campaign a little earlier. It's a pleasant surprise when it does happen, but it's not unusual to see a drop in traffic and revenue over the weekend.

Yes but the issue is not a traffic or click drop on ads, but the drop of the revenue from each click. I actually see more traffic and clicks on weekends, but more revenue from Sunday to Thursday and a significant drop on Fridays and Saturdays without a loss of traffic or clicks on ads. That is what is strange.
