Hi, I have an .info ban site for 2 months now. It is doing ok (good traffic) but i just wondered if i put adsense on it it would not distract people from the selling products. Any one an experience with this? Thanks..
People are so used to seeing text ads now, I wouldn't worry about it. If you had pop-up ads it might have a negative effect.
I am not so sure about that. Generally I'd like my sites to have 1 focus, and one focus alone. No matter what it is. On the other hand: If you aren't making any money with what you currently have on your site... why not throw some Adsense on it to at least make SOME extra cash. So there are always exceptions. But if this is a valuable moneymaking site with nice conversions... don't risk those earnings for Adsense.
I wouldn't go overboard with the ads, but I don't see them interfering at all with people who are genuinely interested in buying product from your site, (unless they are competitors' ads - which you can block.) Earnings if you read other threads vary so much depending on niche, traffic quality, traffic quantity...it's too difficult to predict until the ads are up and running for a few months.
The problem is very simple: If you got a wel converting product, and you add Adsense... your REAL earnings drop. The point is choices: Don't give people too many choices. Instead, you make the choice for them. Basic psychology. I am a real marketer. I hardly have Adsense sites. All my SEO optimized sites are feedersites for my own products. And sometimes for affiliate products... until I got my own product. I wouldn't want to lead the attention of the people away from the REAL action they need to take, which is buying my products. I know, from experience, that if you give people choices, you have to make sacrifices. In case of Adsense, it usually aren't positive sacrifices (less sales means less back-end sales which means less money in my pocket). As it seems that he has some kind of product to sell, I am not sure if it would be such a wise choice to add Adsense. Instead, I would just optimize the salescopy to get more people to buy.
