Is it okay to copy from Wikipedia and have Adsense ads on the site? i've heard something about the creative commons license and how wikipedia allows you to use there stuff, but i'm not sure if it's legit?
its always better to use unique content. if you must use other articles, then edit it to a point that becomes unique. google has duplicate content penalty for copied sites
What's the point? Who would want to go to sleep at night knowing they had full freedom, and yet chose to do something totally useless, being a bottom-feeding leech?
copied/duplicated content will not be ranked high. Even you can use adsense on it, but you can not get good SERP or got no traffic. what's point to do it?
It is very difficult to rank high with copied content, as that content might have already been indexed by google, you will need to atleast rewrite those content It is not worth the pain
yes right, no ranking = no traffic. try to make unique content by yourself and your pages will get high ranking.
thanks for your replies. theres only certain things i want to copy from wikipedia.... like an article here and there. obviously if all my content was copied from them, than there would be no point in going to my site. i just wanted to know if i was able to copy some thing from them and have adsense on it. i didn't want it to be illegal or anything...especially with this adsense banning i hear about. by the way...how do you guys know its okay? has google said anything? or does wikipedia say "sure you can use our stuff as you please"
Two points. 1. You can have some traffic from links from other site 2. With copied content you can be TOP10 if you do everything right? especially with WIKI. Why? Because the content in wiki is changed permanently and you will have older unique version.
