http://linkme.ath.cx/random-zsnes-screens Anything I can do to optimise this? And just so I understand this finally... advertisers have to choose to advertise on your pages explicitly, in order for you to get CPM ads, right?
No, CPM ads are just like CPC ads. You'll get them if they're related to your site. The only way to prevent them is to choose only text ads. Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot you can do with this. On a site that's heavy with pictures that I have, I put a leaderboard adlink at the top of the image and a leaderboard banner on the bottom. Converts pretty well, but then again, I have waaaaay more text than you do here.
Thanks Also, I want to mention my recent experience with Clicksor... I signed up yesterday and enjoyed a few hours of great CPM rates before being declined. I sent what I reckon to be a very professional reply email, ultimately asking if I'd be able to apply again in the future with a different website. No reply yet... but my current lifelong goal is to get Clicksor back.
I would be careful. I have heard some horror stories about Clicksor that makes Adsense look like angels.
If you had the time or someone to do it, I would suggest changing the image names, such as nintendo1.jpg or beavisandbutthead.jpg, then maybe the ads would target better to the image. Dunno if that would help or not, but I would try it out and see if it was my site unless somebody else already knows it wouldn't work.
