Adsense on Forums

I have adsense on 1 of my forums. There is a adult section, but adsense is not shown in that section. I got a TOS violation warning from adsense about it. I took down adsense from my entire site for the moment to be safe, but whats the deal? I thought that it was ok to have adsense on sites that might contain adult content as long as adsense is not displayed in those sections/areas of the site with the adult content. Is this true?

The best suggestion is why dont you send an email to the adsense support team regarding this. You can get a better answer.

I got a reply, they admited to making a mistake, apologized, and told me it was ok to put their ads back up.
