No not really. Most users get used to the positions and don't click them at all, so I suggest you change positions at least once a month for some true earnings. Also remember no tot put them on your register page. Thank You
My forums have enough AdSense income to offset the cost of hosting the forums AND the sites and then some. I use my forum income only for paying that cost, and then the profits are used to buy more domain names to drive more traffic to my sites. I think it is a worthwhile time-investment to monetize your forums. Initially, I think my forums "smart priced" me for a few months, but I changed how my forums display information (header, titlebar, even URL) and my income became significantly better.
The answer is simple forums mostly get the same visitors daily & the visitors are used to adsense ads and tend to ignore them most of the times. A website is always a better option if you want to make some decent money with adsense.
It is hard to make money from forum with adsense. I got a forum too. But, it doesn't bring much income for me.
Who cares? Build a fantastic community and a massive footprint in the google index and focus on guests. True theres not a huge click rate. Pierce
I don't have a forum, but I know Shawn does. The ads placement is very important on forums, try to insert the ads into posts, that brings higher CTR.
adsense income depents on the forum topics. if you work on general topic subject you income will not be so much
From what I see, forums get more impressions (less clicks) because of constant refreshes and topic views but sites get more clicks (less impressions) depending on your site. I think a forum and site make for a good combination of balancing your clicks with your impressions.
I'm making ok money with my forums, enough to help cover some of the site costs. A few minor changes really increased my earnings though. 1) Placing images next to the ads really helped. 2) My adsense ads are for guests only. I never got many clicks from my registered users, I guess because they became so used to the ads they just ignored them.
