    Hi all!

I have a forum http://kasparovchess.crestbook.com and with over than 50.000 daily hits we have only few AdSense clicks there!

Did anyone successfully monetized forum like this and HOW?

    Thanks :)

Repeat visitors are quite hesitant to click on the ads.

Add a 100% div tag that looks similar to the headers tag. After, insert the add code in there. The add currently looks really out of place contrasted against the white background.

You have to try and blend it in as much as possible. You could get a mod that makes the ads look like a post or something. That might help.

Generally, Adsense won't have good conversions when it comes to Forums.

With my experience on forums you DON'T want to blend. You want to use multiple color palettes. Either way, things require testing since NASATS (not all sites are the same).

I have a two forums. and I try to use Adsense on them.

one of them have around 5000 visitors per day but the clicks from it under 50.

the other one have around 1000 visitors per day and have around 10-20 clicks per day.

I notice that regular users don't really care about the Ads. so if you don't have a lot of new visitors you will notice that the click level is very low comparing to visitors number.

I am not sure if this is ethical.

I placed a Google Adsense text link just under the forum menu links and in this time I have seen my clicks quadruple. :)

Yes, they're very profitable. Especially if you use Kontera too. You can easily make $40/day if your traffic is good enough.

Quit spamming your Kontera affiliate link. Kontera sucks.

Back to the OP. Yes you can make money with AdSense and forums. Try color rotation and if you can, place an ad after the first post.

Would a CPM network be better suited to a forum?

You know those networks that pay you per 1,000 impressions.

This only works reliably if you are moving your ads around all the time. Regular users ignore your ads. Of course when you move your ads regular visitors usually get ticked. They usually don't embrace change like you embrace money.

    Hello,

Kontera's In-Text ads are a great solution for forums, as we know from our publishers. Users are not blind to in-text ads as they may be for other formats. At the same time, the ads are relatively discrete and allow users to control and decide when they want an ad to be displayed.

    Thanks,

I also run adsense on my webmaster forum and I give 100% to its members (revenue share)
