Adsense on "for registered only" pages ?

Does anyone have experience with having adsense on "for registered only" pages ?

Like, i got an Arcade on my site which is only for registered members (free), they can then go play small flash games in the arcade.

Am i allowed to place adsense on such pages ?

I mean, google couldnt check ad placements and such without registering, so maybe it's not allowed.

Just asking incase any knows about it before i email google.

i think u should make the site read-only for genral public so that the media bot can visit ur site and index the pages.

May be.. only the download link can be made available to registered users. (the final link)

Despite the huge number of replies to this thread i emailed google.

    Here's what they said...

Notice how they didnt directly said if it's allowed or not.

Anyways, im not placing ads in my arcade then.

I will also remove the ads from a private forum i got, which only registered members can view, like here on DP in the "The Underground" forum.

Basically you'd have to let the Mediabot into the site so it could see those same pages, since it needs to analyze the content of the page in order to show ads. You could do that by allowing unfettered access if the user-agent is the Mediabot's, but that would leave you open to having others access your site that way if they figure out what you're doing.

Really, you should keep the ads on public pages.

I got two vBulletin boards, and Google has no trouble posting ads related to the site in moderator/special members only boards. And last I checked, the Mediabot (Member #1337) isn't a moderator, there for he doesn't see any of the content there! There for you can have ads in member only places, if you got non-member pages that the Mediabot can use to guess what ads to show.

This is true, if you read through the AdSense patent carefully you'll see that the pages that link to a page and the pages that are part of the same site influence the ad selection. They won't be very well-targeted to the individual pages, however.

Interesting, did you set up mediabot as member ?
Did you specify an IP address for it in adminCP ? if so, which ?

    Thanks

I have some ads in members only sections....It just works out that way because they are in the template which is the same for every page....in any case, the ads do get displayed but they are not well targeed...they mostly relate to forum software etc which my readers would not be interested in...i have just been a bit lazy trying to setup some other sort of ad :)
