Any bloggers on here that use Adsense? How are you doing with it? I just started and don't know what to expect. I am using Blogger. Is it possible to make your Adsense earnings through blogs? Seems too good to be true...blogging is so easy and getting a blog is free. I'd love to hear stories and advice. thanks! Angela
Yes, it is possible to make Adsense earnings through blogs. The more traffic to your blogs, the better chance you have of making money. Just make sure you follow all the rules, especially the rule of not clicking on the ads yourself (you will quickly be banned from Adsense if you do).
Hello Angela, I posted the same question yesterday. I am doing some experiments and trying to know different ways to generate traffic in blogs so that i could earn some money when google accepts me. Well one way of boosting traffic in blogs is easy. u could try - What topic is your blog related to ? ? Go to a large forum which discusses similar topics and become a member of that forum. Then start taking interests in forum activities by always posting replies to people's questions and starting new discussions. At the end of each of your message include one link to your blog (DONT FORGET THIS) . Do this continiously for one or two weeks. And u know the most important thing........ update your blog daily .... .most probably after two or three weeks ur blog will slowly get more and more traffic. Always post interesting and short articles on blogs... articles may range from 2 - 5 paragraphs are nice.... very long articles must be avoided. And try to post articles which you think will interest the people on the forum you have joined so that they always return to your blog for information. Also add a counter to your blog.....its very easy i use statcounter u can also use this.... One more tip may help you. whatever you write on your blog... make a copy of that and post it to articlecity with the address of your blog at the bottom. Not only articlecity but other famous article sites also. So that whenever people go there search for that topic...they will find your article and when it seems interesting to them they will come to your blog. And other publishers will publish your article....slowly more and more sites will link to your blog and then your search engine rankings will also improve. regards Aditya yahoo ( aditya_sfs )
of course. and blogger is just a service from google doh! many people done that before and move out later.
A lot of bloggers have the same AdSense ads running -- so they are not unique. Also many bloggers are not sure how to capture an audience. Blogging is not as easy as one may think -- especially when trying to earn money. Q...
Content, content, content. The biggest mistake newcomers to blogging who wants to make money with Adsense makes is doing an "everything goes" blog. Pick a topic, a very focused topic, and stick to it. Blog about it everyday. This ensures relevant ads everytime, as well as engendering visitor loyalty. It doesn't matter what topic it is -- just pick one, and stick to it. After that, promote, promote, promote.
I am using ypn but I guess you are still intrested lol. Check out the template I am using an how I incorporated the ads. www.joestablet.com The template i found on google is called adsense ready theme and seems to work great. joe
Four keys to successful blogging for adsense: 1) Design - make it easy on the eyes and people will stay around a lot longer. Make it look like just another blog, and they might read the post but will leave when they are done. Lots of templates out there that are designed very well. Find one and modify to your likes. 2) Niche - Find a topic and stick too it. Eat, sleep, and breathe the topic until you know it inside and out. Become an expert and people will recognize you and your work and subscribe to your RSS. Even better, they'll link to you. If your topic is already your passion, then you are well on your way. 3) Content. So you're an expert. You post once a quarter and wonder why no one comes visiting anymore. If your local supermarket only stocked their produce, bakery and meat items once every two weeks how often would you go? Keep your content fresh and people will be coming back frequently. At minimum, post once a week. And if you do post once a week, its best to do it on a schedule so your audience will know "on mondays at noon I should see [experts name]'s new article". Daily posting can be a bit overwhelming especially if you have one or more blogs, but if you can stick with it daily posting is usually the best way to go. 4) Traffic. You'll need to work forums, other blogs, other blog editors, etc to get your articles noticed. If you just finished "Top 10 Ways to Nag Someone For a Link" (or whatever other article), suggest it to other blog editors editors in your field. Do so kindly and not forcingly. They are on schedules just like you. If they read it and like it, they most likely will link, if they don't then they'll pass. You can also post in forums, but sometimes the audience isn't as tolerant of such posts. If you do post in a forum, make sure you have some built reputation there first. Other good ways to get traffic: Search Engines (of course! why didn't I think of that! ), RSS Feeds (Submit your RSS Feed to places like Syndic8 and NewsIsFree, etc), Newsletters, and sometimes just plain ol ads on other sites. Good luck. It really is a jungle out there.
Traffic/Adsense Earnings, you can't have one without the other, which has been mentioned before. If your new to it, try to focus down on an extremely specific niche and build up from this. The other advice so far has been great, soak it all up. Another suggestion would be to not use Advertisement until your blog has built up steam. I've found that the sites that I've started without ads tend to grow faster than sites launched, Ads in place. Could be a coincidence, hard to say.
To echo and amplify what has been said: It's ironic that you might start a blog with the goal of making money then you're surprised find out that you have to focus on content and your readers FIRST, and commit to doing this for a year or more THAT SAID it's a great way for someone who has a primary job to transition toward a residual income or working at home. Just come home each night and write a post. That simple. ...if you've picked a niche that isn't too competitive and that has valuable keywords attached. And of course you have to have adsense or some other moneymaker in your template.
Very common mistake. It's also an easy mistake to make when you're an Internet novice and you decide to "make a site" to make money, and not a site for the purpose of just having a site, and then deciding to make money from it.
My blog is hosted on Blogger and I have no complaints. The earnings are nice. I even quit my job last year.
I agree with this. I have a travel site and decided to create a travel and events blog a couple of months ago. I split the blog into 8 sub-blogs with each one focussed on a certain topic: Travel, Events etc. I don't know how successful the blog is by itself as it is part of a much bigger site ..... and I'm too lazy to use channels ........ but, have a look and you will see that the ads are quite relevant to each sub-blog: http://www.newzealandphotography.co.nz/ram-blings/ Also, I wrote my own script for the blogs instead of getting a free blogger account. I am not sure if this is correct but I have heard blog owners complaint frequently about how Google seems to show "blog" ads on their blog instead of ads relevant to what the blog is about. I am not sure if this is a temporary issue until Google figures out what the blog is about or whether it's a permanent one.
Hey, dfsweb, I think that qualifies more as a site, don't you think, rather than a blog? You don't constantly add new entries, do you?
Are you making fun of us? Not with the earnings of your blog!! how much you're getting from your blog?
