I am new to blogs and adsense, and I wondering if you add Adsense to a blogger blog if it's even worth it, or would I be better off with my own domain? Does it even matter? Also, can you SEO a blogger blog in the HTML or is it different?
If you're just starting out then a Blogger blog is as good a place to start as any. There are many people making very good money with Blogger blogs. As free tools go, it's fucking awesome. As Google search rankings go Blogger is pretty well optimized straight out of the box. Get backlinks and you'll rank as well as any other sites you're competing with. If you've got the cash then hell yes, go and set yourself up with your own domain using the WordPress blog platform. It is more than possible to make money with Adsense on a Blogger blog. You have to put effort into it just like any other site you manage. Is it worth it? It's FREE, so you haven't got anything to lose. A lot of people give it Blah Blah about getting you blog flagged and shut down by Blogger. If it's a legitimate blog you won't receive any hassle from them.
Thanks. I am not promoting the use of Marijuana in my blog, so I hope it is not against the TOS of AdSense. What are backlinks exactly? Like posting my blog on other sites for advertising or what? Also, is there a way to monitor traffic on my blog? Like find out my uniques and shit?
Yes, make sure you read the Adsense TOS, boring yes. Essential yes. You don't want to get band before you begin. I've not got the time to give you a tutorial on backlinks, but if you're going to be working a Blogger blog to make money with Adsense then there is really only one guy to learn from and that is Grizzly at Make Money Online For Beginners. Spend some time on his site, he'll teach you everything you need to know.

its good to start on a free blog because you can test it out, but for more advanced users always go to your own domain...
I thinks blogger blogs are more promoted by google(since blogger owned by google) than sites ,from my experience.My blog named http://tomstricks.blogspot.com/ has a page impression of daily 1000 and 2-4$ sure earnings.That blog is only 3 week old and 75% of traffic from searches
I made a blogger blog and have 5 posts on it. It's been running about 2 weeks now and the Adsense ads don't even come close to my content. You would think that if you're blogging about dogs and cats that Adsense would serve up dog and cat related ads, huh? Not on my blog...
Doesn't it go by keywords in your content? I am sticking to only a few major keywords, and trying to use them as much as possible.
Yeah, that's been my experience since I first started using Adsense. That's why it's weird that the ads are all about RSS readers, news feeds, etc. None of my keywords are being picked up.

Very true! Also consider, "which came 1st: the chicken or the egg?" If you start on Blogger and it really takes off, you'll stress over the move to your own domain. However, if you start on your own hosting account and don't like blogging then you've wasted your time and money. Sure, domains are under $10 and hosting is cheap but you have to find "middle ground" in this.
