I have a Wordpress.com blog (example.wordpress.com) , not a Wordpress.org hosted blog. Am I allowed to add adsense to my blog, or will my blog be denied if I sign up for adsense with it as my main website. Ans is it against wordpress' TOS to have adsnese and affiliate links on your blog
You should be fine signing up with your Wordpress blog. The thing is I'm not sure if you can edit the template to add in the AdSense code? Not sure about blogs w/ Wordpress not hosted on your own server. Hopefully someone else can come and respond with a confident enough answer. EDIT: Just created a test Wordpress blog and yes you can add the AdSense code. It shouldn't be against Wordpress' TOS (highly doubt it).
No, You cannot use adsense on a Free Hosted Wordpress blog. There is only one affiliate or donation link allowed. At least that is the way it has been for a long time. They will deny you access to it and shut it down. I know from experience.
So adding the "TEXT" widget in the sidebar and inserting the code wouldn't work? That's what made me say yes . Damnit!
I don't think there is any problem adding the script. You can add the code in a text widget, or include it in a blog post. I am more concerned with whether it is permitted by Wordpress, and whether Adsense will accept my registration. I have read the Wordpress TOS and there is a highlighted point saying Would this apply to Adsense and other advertisements and affiliates
You can't use adsense on a blog hosted my wordpress at wordpress.com but if you have your own site using wordpress.org you can use adsense.
I too had a problem with my wordpress blog and since I could not use adsense with the wordpress, I dumped it and started another blog at blogspot -Dairyman
thank you for your details. i have on blog on wordpress.org but don't put adsense code. i'm not sure it work or not.
One final question. I have my blogspot blog and want to sign up for Adsense. Should I wait until I have some content on the blog or does it not matter
hey dude dont worry thres nthng against wordpress..if u r addng adsense thn u need to add it either on the head or else on Post ..Post is nt good its better if u add on ur headng..
I have my own wordpress blog, I pay for my hosting and have my own domain name - that's why I was able to put Google Adsense on it.
Host wordpress in your own hosting or buy a domain and use a free hosting, then import your posts from the free one to your new hosted one: http://technosailor.com/2006/07/05/wordpress-to-wordpress-import/
