Adsense Not O Looking To Ban Publishers - Proof

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by Sem-Advance, Sep 18, 2006.

I looked at one of my sites this morning and saw Adsense Ads were no longer in place:

    http://www.expertseotips.com

Went to another and saw my Adsense Ads were still running.

    http://www.seocrawl.com

    Wrote Google Adsense supprt

and received a reply in several hours.

I dont want to post the whole letter as it doesnt speak to the issue directly.... but I thought this would help.

Hopefully this will help others alleviate fears that Googles out to destroy publishers...they are not....

It should be noted this is the second time this has happened to me as I had the same thing occur with toolsforadsense.com

    Hope this helps

    Peace

I agree, Sem-Advance. I've never believed the consipiracy theory that G is out to destroy publishers. It would be a really stupid business model.

Do you have any idea what the issue was that they had with your site?

Great post, Sem :) I've had similar experiences with Google as well - great to see others receiving good treatment.

I moved recently and the Adsense Account was tied into my old private ISP email address..

Apparently the letter was sent while I was moving and never made it to me as I did not receive any of the old ISP mail once I moved..

I asked them to resend the original email as I did not fix anything that I know of... lol...

Sorry about your issue too. try Yahoo

    ash1

Google will display ads soon after a publisher applies the code to the site, however human review is sometime lagged and issues are not caught for some time.

    Telmari

What is nice is I am not one of the premium publishers or even a mid sized publisher...I think I am still small business and to not get banned for issues is support to expand my offerings and improve current website resources that are within the Adsense program..

Hopefully others will rest a bit easier........glimmer of hope in a recent dark set of threads

    Peace

No, I don't have any issues with G. I'm cool with them.

Thanks for the positive post about Google. Not nearly enough of those around here. I have had several occasions to contact Google on different issues and I've always found them to be helpful and prompt.

Definitely - I've often believed that publishers that maintain a closer contact communication with Google are less likely to be suddenly banned without notice - though of course, I can't prove this... I've had a number of greatly successful email correspondences with the Adsense team - everything from reviewing one of my sites to make sure it was TOS compliant (in their eyes, though it was from my view of the TOS/program policies) to mentioning traffic spikes or even occasional invalid clicks - every time, they write back and are polite and straight forward.

I tend to believe as well that were I banned for something (of course, other than being stupid and clicking on my own ads or something), these previous correspondences and/or reviews of my sites might show them that it was an honest mistake on mine or someone else's parts somehow.

Of course, I always do my best to stay within the TOS, even if it means dismantling or reworking an aforely-valid thought idea, but I tend to have confidence in the program overall - I just wish more people would tend to be less scared about the ban stick :)

I also believe that to be true - though of course, I can't prove it either :).

As far as folks being scared of the ban stick, I suspect most of them have reason to be scared. Those who live by the TOS have no reason to be scared. I think it's possible to get caught up in some algorithm glich, but I believe G will listen to the evidence on appeal. If not, well heck, Google never promised us we could have an account for as long as we want one . . . only for as long as they want us to have one :) .

No problems ...glad to put one up in a positive light as I do give them an edging on occassion.... but I think the samething that you said of living within the Adsense TOS... applies to most things with Google...if you work with them and within their parameters...they work with you a bit easier....

I used to believe this on some level as well. That is why I had any question or concern, I went directly to the Adsense team and asked them about it.

Didn't really help me when I got banned for no reason that I can identify or establish.

I would give it sometime still.....

Things dont always happen as fast as we wish... but there are others who lurk and who notice things and work behind the scenes to straighten things out...

Best of luck in getting back.....

i agree, i have actually recieved emails from google on 3 occassions, as a few of my old sites had violations. They asked me to make the changes, which i did and emailed them back. They thanked me for making the changes, and that was about it. The mistakes were all accidental(one older site that i modified to have adsense said to refer to the menu on the left side of the screen at the bottom of it, but i changed the left side to ads, so that is obviously against the tos, but it was obvious it said that well before the ads were ever put there in place of the menu), so they didnt really mind, they just politely asked me to change it.

    Follow Up

Google Adsense Customer Service went to the trouble to find the initial email sent to me.

    In it containted the following
When I had purchased the site there were some issues I and others here at DP felt were
stepping on the lines of Google TOS.

I had removed the line at the time as I thought it might be going a bit too far..

Seems it was something Google did not like.... and I was lucky to have deleted the line, even though I did not receive
    the email.

This also seems to imply that others who have been banned may have been even more extreme in having others click their ads??

    What do others think???
