    Hi,
I run a small blog about advertising in India.
    Here's the link- http://www.themonkeyinabox.com
I used to run it off blogger and it worked like a dream. The ads were showing, no issues.
Then I got myself a custom domain and set it up with the blog.
The ads disappeared! Leaving a blank space.
I then realized I had to apply again since mine I was a host account.
I did as instructed. (request for approval, copy-paste ad code in a HTML/Javascript Gadget, etc.)
    But got this depressing mail-

I tried again but got the same reply.
    Help!

P.S. My blog has no adult content whatsoever.
Not even a review of an ad for condoms!

I thought, if you have an existing adsense account you just have to click new ad unit and grab the code?

    hey Bro,

    I tried that.
But my account is a host account.
So I have to get it upgraded first.
I made a new ad unit.
    Got the code.
Added it to a HTML/Javascript Widget (Is this a wrong method?)
    And waited.
But I got that message telling me the approval got rejected.
So there is a blank space.

    Well, I know why.

Your site name is nearly identical to one that *does* have adult content. So much so that google, when looking for your site, suggests the other site. Because of this, they think, rightly or wrongly, that your site is associated or looking for the same visitors. It may be unfortunate, but you simply need to get a domain name that is not already associated with porn content.

It sucks, but better to know the reason and then you can address it and move on. You could argue with Google, but I think the domain name is tainted and it would not be a good one in the long run anyway.

    Maybe I'll switch.
It started off as a personal blog.
Then I started reviewing Indian advertisement campaigns.
So now the domain name is not really relevant.
So it's better I get something more SEO friendly.
Just had this emotional attachment to the name I think.
It was my personal brand idea.
    Long story.
    But thanks for the advice.
    Makes the decision making easier.
