AdSense + niche question

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by ccxll4e, Apr 12, 2011.

    Hey guys, I just got approved for Adsense yesterday and I had my coder throw some ads up, however the ads were not displaying properly. I am wondering what the exact process for that is. Under the 'domain' option. I have my site in there and it is unverified.

    Last night I switched the DNS over to google nameservers and got the site activated, but then it became a parked site. So I'm hesitant to do that again. Do I have to have it activated to use any type of ad?

    Also my website (located in my sig) is a unique niche in my opinion. Can anyone just give a rough guesstimate on how much to be looking to make, even a VERY rough (yet educated) guess would be great.

    thanks

    A) Do not add in the adsense until you have your site stable online.

    B) You won't be getting paid much until you get a lot of traffic. More traffic, more money.

    Excellent niche though. good one.

    What would you define as "stable" as of now we have quite a bit of traffic with still not even doing any advertising (meaning we haven't purchased ads or physically advertised yet). Thanks for the advice though :D

    No, stable= Is not going offline for long periods of time. Since you are messing around with your DNS then your site is going off and on. You should get the DNS fixed, then ad the adsense code's where you want them in your site.
    Adsense will not affect anything to do with the server or this parking thing you are talking about.

    The ads show as blank spots for 30minutes to 24hrs then ads fill in after that, but........if you change DNS while adsense is there then it might turn to blank spots again for a little while longer.

    I see your domain name as parked too. Obviously you haven't read anything about adsense on adsense help itself.
    The process doesn't need any DNS modification!
    You simply need to generate the code for an adsense block from the adsense interface, then paste that code on your site, in HTML.

    The error you did was to apply for "adsense for domains" which is just for domain names you don't use and that you want to park, you can do it with adsense easily. But that's not what you want.

    Yeah whatever you do don't go for 'Adsense for domains' it's totally different as mentioned above, takes about 6 months to set up and earns you zilch!

    That was my original thought, and when we did that, the blank boxes appeared which Laceygirl explained. So I have set the DNS back to the original settings. However when you say it looked parked to you that was literally right when you posted? Because at that time it should not have been and was still loading for myself and a few friends of mine.

    Yes it was, but now that I try again I see your page.
    I hope you have better sites for your adsense ads to put on, as it is not likely to be very good niche for adsense, not enough traffic and not enough advertizers competition and I don't know about the tendency to click on ads by the audience.

    Well anyway, you simply have to generate an ad code and paste it on your site's template where you want the ads to appear.

    Just to double check, this is a proper code correct? I have had this placed on my website for about 21hrs now and still no ads coming in.
    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "ca-pub-7375907724767";
    /* My Roommate Sucks */
    google_ad_slot = "19179716";
    google_ad_width = 728;
    google_ad_height = 90;
    //-->
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    You can start adding AdSense to your site even if it is just the very first day. Doesn't matter when you add it.

    It takes a while for them to show up. As long as you look at your website source and the ads are there, it should be good within 24 hours.
