Any pointers to sites that you consider is a 'good' placement / usage of Adsense Link Units? Have you been successful with Link Units?
http://jessicaalba.webjedis.com/ if you put ads on that bar under the header, it would have great ctr... because people would think it was just navigation. I've seen it on other sites like that too.
Which site(s) are you considering for adlinks? If we see the sites...you may get more specific suggestions.

i think the best places for link units near your main menu and i see that some sites are making good link unit blending on footer of the site
i always try and make my links look like menu items. i think you are doing a pretty good job at this...
Ad links should be placed right above your menu items, Also they should be the same color and size of your menu links
