I have added Kontera to my blogs that already have Adsense. My question is this. I am using Adsense text only ads and a sidebar linkbox. If the Adsense title and url colors (also the adsense sidebar link colors) are the same exact color of the highlighted Kontera words, is that in violation of Adsense? Also, I added a Cbox chatbox you one blog. Are chatboxes a good thing or not-so-good as far as revenue. The chatbox is very active, but my eCPM and CTR rates have gone down a bit in the last couple of days since I added the chatbox. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Using Kontera + adsense is allowed; no matter what. If you think the chatbox is making your earnings go down, then remove it.
I guess I made the mistake of implementing both the chatbox and the Kontera ads within a day of each other...... I get between 5,000 - 10,000 unique visits per day, this is my full time income and I only started this venture August 18th, so I can use whatever advice I can get. I also have a few Amazon product ads that have been running for a couple of weeks, but have yet to make a penny from that. I also use a "Help Keep This Free Website Online" PayPal donation button, and have actually reveived two small donations in the two weeks that I added that. I also use blogspot, but since my Google PageRank is 5 and my page comes up #1 out of 1,500,000+ sites when I use several search terms, I am afraid (and don't know how) to migrate to a regular webpage. I could use some expert advice, and Yahoo Answers isn't cutting it..... Alan
I don't konw much about blogspot, but you can use adsense on the pages right? Ya, a chat box sucks. Make a forum instead. Not bad; I've never tried to promote amazon products before, so I'm not sure about them.
yes, but how do I get a "forum" going on blogspot?? I have been monitoring the Cbox chatbox and it shows anywhere from 15-25 users "online" and 5-6 people are actually "chatting". I think the people who aren't chatting are sitting there watching the chatbox instead of reading the information on my blog, thus my revenue has dropped a bit. But I am thinking that the chatbox will ultimately bring in more return visits, and thus the revenue will rebound. I don't like to panic and remove the chatbox, or Kontera within a short period of time. I like to give things a few days to see the results.
The shoutbox slows down the page loading, so of coruse, your earnings would drop. Well, I'd say by a domain name and then a vBulletin license.
blogspot has 301 redirect. Buy a domain then put it into the domain name thing in blogspot in setttings for that blog. Then set up the nameserver to point your domain to your new host within your registrar. Google will pick up on that..of course then you will have the problem of all your articles. You will have to import the blog..I think wordpress has this feature..but then also the URL structures of your articles will change so they go to 404 errors so you will have to 301 them. btw Which will be a very tedious task and surly not easy to do if you alot of articles. Then after awhile google will update all the urls of your pages. This is why one should not get seroius with using free hosts or blogs for starting there online business. If you Started with paid hosting and your own domains and you wouldn't have this problem.

Its perfectly OK to use Kontera with adsense and not many people report their adsense earnings going down as a result.
