I'm sure this has been touched on 1 000 000 times but I'ma do it again. Adsense's context stuff sucks. I have a blog about beauty , doesn't mention software ANYWHERE and what is my image ad about ? Web site templates and software design. Because ya - that makes a lot of sense. Another blog I have about religion and what does google adsense push me ? Ads about blogs. Now mind you, I only mention the word "blog" like twice in the whole thing. The word "jesus" and "myspace" appear MUCH more. I'm not even sure if they should call it "contextual advertising", seems more than misleading. If this keeps up Ima start moving my ads to another company.
Is your blog fully indexed? If not then proper ads do not always show up. Sometimes they are just blank.
Hmmm, well not my experience at all. The ads I get are bang on target. Before shooting the messenger, maybe you ought to be looking at your pages to be sure your site is set up to push the right context to Google. A lot of people complain about Google Adsense before they have done the work necessary to get the most out of it. Back to the drawing board NobbieDoobieDo. I'm sure with a little more input you'll soon be much happier with the ads you are getting. Why don't you give the url of these sites and ask for input. I'm sure a lot of people would be happy to give some help where they can.
No my blogs are not indexed. But what I don't get is when I "preview" my blog as I compose it google shows awesome ads ! But then I publish it and view it again and I get all these crap ads. Google knows whats there, otherwise how could they push AWESOME ads when I preview and PSAs after I publish ? Total crap. I have other blogs that aren't indexed (but are older) that get nice targeted ads. Here are two of the blogs : http://jesusofmyspace.blogspot.com http://youlooksexy.blogspot.com Everynow and then I`ll get one targeted ad (out of three) but usually 2/3rds or 3 out of 3 totally suck. Thanks in advance
Okay yes, I see what you mean, NBD. On the JC site, you have an ad for Iambored and another for a hosting service. You have the option for these banner ads turned on. You know what, I'd turn that off, till I got the majority of the textual ads working with the site. Let's see... I'd say the use of Myspace in the title is misleading maybe. What is this site really - religious humour? Then why not change the title to Jesus Christ - religious humour? Perhaps do the same with the tagline under the header. I have no experience at all with Myspace. Are you pushing the term for any particular reason? If so, is it better that people find you via Myspace or the relevance of your site?
I have had this issue in the past, mostly just takes time to get the content indexed. Adsense also does limit the ads displayed to sections that dont get a good CTR, which will in turn push the users to section that do have a good CTR.
Are you sure G are happy to supply ads at all with expressions like 'sonofmotherfu**inggod' on the page? Would have guessed it's pushing the line a bit for them.
