A Click on the same ad two time produces different earnings both the time.

The Pay per click is never constant, why is it so!

    There could be many reasons.
    - The same ad on different pages could be triggered by different keywords, causing the bid to be different.
    - The advertiser may have changed his bid
    - A competitor may have stopped a campaign, lowering the amount that the advertiser needed to spend on the ad.

BTW, How are you able to determine how much a click paid out?

All perfectly good reasons. As far as how he knows what paid what, he is likely using a tracker like AdLogger, and watching his AdSense account like a hawk. If you have an account that receives a click an hour, it's easy to keep track of payouts. If you generate a substantial amount of clicks, it's impossible to track.

Was it the exact same ad or just the same ad unit?

again all very good points lower priced keyword generating the lower click would be my best guess. I also never knew that it would be that easy to track the clicks and how much you get.

Google has an algorithm which calculates a probabilty, if the click will result in a sale or not. So if it thinks it will lead to a sale you get a higher income per click.

looks like a smart pricing start kicking in. Sad but true, most webmasters have been hit by smart pricing..

Did you click on your own ad to try? ;) I am not sure how you would know otherwise.

adsense ads are displayed on the "second best" basis. (or something like that).

let's assume advertiser A bid 0.05 for a click, while advertiser B bid 0.18, for the same keyword.

when the ad for that keyword is to be displayed, advertiser B's ad is displayed, and he pays 0.06 for a click, not 0.18.

so, if you think about it on a larger scale, budget change of only one advertiser may affect all of the advertisers cpc.
