EPC are rock bottom with smart pricing people dont click ads Yahoo seemsl ike a much better alternative lets discuss
I hope yahoo has better content quality control so the EPC's don't get hammered like what has happened with Adsense. All the big spending advertisers pulled out of Adsense back in 2004 when they discovered that $6 content clicks didnt convert. Meso lawyers used to easily spend $30 for content clicks way back in 2003. But them spammers ruined it! If yahoo can crack down on the spam sites and garbage sites then yahoo will continue to pay much more ince the advertisers will see a higher ROI.
I'd like to believe that they have been watching Google and learned from their mistakes, but I don't think they're prepared any better than Google is. Seems to me that Yahoo! is always a step behind trying to catch up with G, but never manages to really get up to their level (their SERPs are weird, their email service hasn't improved and their messenger service is pretty much as it always was). I don't see a lot of self-driven energy from Yahoo! and really can't imagine them outdoing Google in anything.
The quality of yahoo's publisher depends ultimately on the yahoo advertisers who use overture. Overture needs to be streamlined or modernized somehow to be able to compete with Adwords. One way could be to remove the stupid 3-day approval process. If yahoo loses more market share of advertisers then the quality of ads for publishers will go down, but this is already kinda evident with all the lame vonage ads and credit ads that alot of YPN people are getting. I am going to try out YPN. Hopefully I will get in.
Not knowing your site, I'm assuming if you got into Adsense, you will get into YPN as well (I've had no problem). I believe the best way is to do both, Adsense and YPN and see which ones have the best ads for which pages. It can always vary, maybe YPN will do a much better job with legal advertising and real estate.
