This is a known phenomenon. People have grown accustomed to adsense and other types of ads and ignore them for the most part. We are all facing this.

I do not understand how the click rate is so low. Are the ads hidden or can they be seen? Do they look like ads or do they blend in with your content?

Check the ads on your site. Sometimes ads that are not related to topic are shown filter them out. Make sure the traffic to your site is not social bookmarks try to get search traffic it converts better. make sure traffic is searching for keyword terms of your site if people click to go to your site for cars and it is about something else they never will click ads.

Yeah, it seems like it is too much work and definitely not worth the effort.

Today, Google is charging in a non sense way, They are charging more than Rs. 20 for those keywords which are not having any competitor on adwords. I am worried, it is very difficult to ad now.

If you start to see your CTR slip I suggest rethinking your ad placement. This is especially true if you have many returning visitors.

it happens to everyone, just try and place your ads in differnet places, your earnings will fluctuate, but at least you will know what ads works and where it works then leaving one in the same location n never working

more and more advertisers are opting out of the content network, or at least dropping the bids way down. I know I do. I might bid $.75 for a search network ad and either exclude content or bid $.05. The actual advertisers are driving it and in general, the value of the content networks is near zero.

You got to keep evolving to stay one step ahead of the competition. Your niche probably had less competitors a year ago than you have now. Maybe you just don't rank that well anymore. Maybe the new sites you launched have high competition as well. Maybe the problem is with you, and not with Google.

Text ad boxes haven't changed much over the past 10 years - yield is definitely dropping off over time. I'd suggest trying different ad products - in text, etc., offer something different. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but my company is doing something to combat the problem of declining yield with text ads. We're a text network, and we're aggregating our CPC offers into a flash unit that's interactive and engaging: www.pubmarketplace.com.
