I also tried adsense first with little success - $5-6 per day. Then I switched to affiliate marketing. You need to work harder, but it's worth the big commissions.
I've got three or so good quality sites. Original content that I wrote myself. Up until a few weeks back one site was making $3 to $4 a day, the 2 other good-quality sites (plus maybe 4 more fairly crap sites as well) would make a couple more dollars between them all. Adsense is really bad at the moment. But my problem is lack of traffic. Google has dropped their PR love to even my good sites, and I'm now getting less than 100 visitors a day on all my sites combined. The sites are way down in the Google serps, and in Yahoo too. I seem to get some love from MSN and the other new MS engine, but that's it. I need more links I think, and more good-quality pages. Any other suggestions, guys?
I need 6k visitors per day to make a profit that's all I need to know - I constantly review the methods to make that profit so it doesn't matter whether I use affiliate marketing, AdSense, Adbrite, Clicksor or whatever...
Yeah, and in romania one gallon (here the measurement is in liters), is about $6-7. It's damn expensive for such a 3rd world country.
It depends on the content quality and business "branch" of you site. Some of my pages have an average of +150,00USD eCPM. Thats 15 cents per impression. Quality, not quantity. As someone said before, google is not stupid and will pay you what your site is worth (kinda).
that is the point I am stressing , adsense is doing really bad right now unless you have a massive amount of traffic and in that point you would switch to affiliate marketing anyway because its more profitable, so in my opinion i don't think adsense is going to last for a very long time, along with ypn, ypn i still believe is in beta and its never gonna come out of it after they seeing what is happening with adsense lol.
So far im up to 6 bucks with adsense and 1 buck with CJ.. and honestly dont care.. as long as people visit my sites... PR increases on my domains im content. Affiliate marketing will be something I dip my toes in... but not yet.
lolz 5$ per day i am having a content network or 100+ blogs running and i am making almost 500 - 600$ per day so google adsense rocky u should know how to use it................ also i am making money by direct advertisers so till u get any direct advertiser u should stich to google adsense as something is better than nothing
You have no idea what you're talking about. Adsense is still the best out there. Sure, affiliate marketing does seem to payout a lot more but Adsense is so much more dependable. If you have quality sites with good content and you do proper marketing, you can make a lot more than $5/day.
ya dude........ if u hav only less traffic u can just buy a candy.... ... its something like playing game.................................... many people play games but only few get sucess.....
i am new to this place and will be posting all my websites soon ............... as i will be in need of direct advertisers so w8 and watch bro
Well I do OK with both adsense and affiliates...but better with adsense If affiliates are better why do sites like about.com have google ads all over the place? I'm pretty sure they will have worked out its because it makes them more money than selling 'things' directly, and guess they have the resources to do whatever is most profitable. Likewise there's big travel sites that have lots of google ads when you'd think they would focus on selling real travel products. Personally if a page is geared towards a particular product eg hotels in tucson I'll use affiliate products, if its a more general information page about Tucson I'd have both a link to my hotels page AND google ads. Just keep trying different things...but to answer the OP, no adsense is not dead or dying for people with popular content based sites.
Adsense still thrives. I think there is nothing against monetizing a site with adense and affiliate links $5 a day is a start. It tells you that it is possible to make money from the business. The next step is to duplicate your efforts
It's all like a strategy game, you have to be patient and intelligent. I belive in Adsense's success.
