no is not dead....but looks like this is an interesting thread (15 members and 4 guests - far more than a PR update thread...LoL)
so adsense is paying more for the ads as it was once doing in the begining when in 2003 and is still paying high such as 123$ for a high1 ad click !!! I don't think so .. the highest amount i got for an ad is $1.23 ...so kinda don't agree adsense is rocking!!!!
they have updated the news in their homepage something or the other but i am telling something about my experience!!
When adsense is dead, google would collapse too, and it will be.... NEVER! PS. Welcome back, w3bmaster
When Adwords dies, Google dies. Adsense would hit them, but I don't think it'd kill them And @ Thread Starter. Yes, adsense is dead. And Digitalpoint is funded by adsense. Oh, oops
while in mid 2007 there was a significant decline in eCPM by adsense - may be or most likely in some relation to the beginning of the global financial crisis that started about same time adsense is FAR from death entire xmas season - november+december 2007 was twice normal average ( month of dec 2007= 7,960k$ ) and now since approx january 15 the eCPM started to go UP again and starts to rock again like in old times before mid last year. now more traffic + excellent eCPM = $ adsense $ all in all adsense is what keeps Google alive and Google keeps www search alive. without G no decent www search - hence without adsense no competition among SEs. adsense is more alive than ever before but adsense / G become smarter, more efficient, better filtering crap sites and MFA sites - and thus only truly decicated and hard working professionals may enjoy an increase in adsense revenue. some precise data: $72,295.32 all time from Tuesday, March 16, 2004 until Tuesday, January 29, 2008 all data = adsense alone without search / referrals last year 2007 - I had more 63% revenue of the entire 46 months period of adsense revenue since my adsense begin mid march 2004. current month - last 10 days until today: on a site with 15'000+ uv/d from 210+ countries / 4 languages ( es,fr,de,en ) CTR above all time average eCPM above all time average 2007 = $46,239.72 that is 63+% of my total all times - 46 months - adsense$! in a single year 2007 annual average CTR 12.24% 2007 annual average eCPM $9.85 these are simple numbers=facts - beyond rumours and gossip by small scale hobby publishers !!! who ever says adsense death is living in a dream world of laziness or MFA sites or is a webmaster producing ONLY sites in niches for $. all those focusing on value sites and customer satisfaction above all else may experience the very same. adsense may go up and down according to season and according to national or global fluctuation resulting from short or long time effects on economic crisis. a strong web publisher compensates for a temporary DOWN by bringing quality of content UP as well as by improving SEO and adsense optimization and incrinsing publishing output/creativity/productivity. adsense rocks like always before !
It's not dead - but it is killing a few sites ! ie. Made for Adsense, Made for Youtube type sites may be a dying breed and will feel the heat.
AHAHA, Adsense is dead? That is funny. See I would've understood what you were talking about if this was "Netscape is dead" or maybe "Typewriters are dead" but adsense. When I first started adsense the profit was slow. It got a penny a day, sometimes 2. Eventually as my traffic grew the pennies turned into 10's of pennies, and eventually 10's of dollars. The results of using adsense clearly shows that its profitable and not going down the gutter, however it's becoming more difficult to cheat your way through adsense and get rich quick. This doesn't affect myself though.
Google earning is not down, show me the proof about this. Yes, they pay less to the publishers because they simply are too strong. Google won't die. They will try another way to monetize their search engine. As long as people need search engine, Google won't die. And as long as you have massive amount of traffic, make money is not a hard thing to do. Obviously wrong. Try PPC campaign for yourself. $10 per click is almost impossible unless you compete in ultra-competitive keywords. $1 per click even can be still considered as competitive keywords and I see google is not that evil.
Adsense is maybe not death, but Elvis is surely LIVE. Hes songs are playing right now in all countrys all over the world, so i belive hes more live when he was really live, hehe Well adsense is having soemtimes weird days, soemtimes you get low cash soemtimes big cash... when YPN gets world wide i bet adsense will pay more too, since now adsense dont have any opponent that could harm them.
That ebook is months old guys. It was followed up by another called life after adsense. [Edit] Came out in late '06.. Time really flies..
