Lightbox, and the newer Lightbox 2, is a JavaScript application used to display large images using modal dialogs. The script has gained widespread popularity due to its simple yet elegant style and easy implementation. While it was initially developed from scratch, Lightbox has since been modified to use a number of JavaScript libraries ... more about lightbox at wikipedia anyway ..... Lightbox is a great script, wordpress plugin is wonderful, when you have a blog or site with photos, see Lightbox script site here i have been testing how to put adsense inside the lightbox photo window, and worked out for me. see the snapshot of lightbox with adsense ads: my question is ?? is this is against adsense TOS ?? anybody done this before ? i wrote adsense few times (guess what ? they never answered). let me know what you think ?
I would also like to know. Does seem a bit ricky to me ... Maybe the above example with a bit more space between the ad and the image ?
see this thread, i think it's debated regarding this guy's photography site about photos so close to images. but his site is still fine with adsense. you may want to send them an email to review your site.
i got a response from adsense, seems like an automatic answer ( bla bla blah .. to read adsense FAQ: AdSense Help Center) anyway i hope i am not risking my account .......... !!!!!!!! one of my sites (wordpress) is about fireworks, great nichie , and the result is of combining lightbox with adsense is very shocking ! before : CTR between 1% - 3% - Earning : 5$ - 8$ now : CTR between 6% - 12% Earning : my earning now is 25$ - 31$ i dont know what is the policy, no clear answer. is anybody have a clue here ?? i appreciate that .
the ads in your pic aren't the slightest bit relevant to the content. it's pretty difficult to have decent epc when generic ads are being used... remember that adsense is contextual, it needs text in the page in order to work correctly.
i added extra file and few extra codes, lot of work, but it's worth it. and i took off adsense from there because i don't want to risk my account, and i am using adbrite, and pays even better.
Adsense doesn't allow ads in popups. not sure about the lightbox or other overlays. but I think its risky.
Might be okay since the user has to click for the overlay to appear (hence not a "popup", as such). I would still check with google before continuing, just to be on the safe side.
Hi There Vision, are you able to share your code with us? I would really like to try this on my forum. Thanks!
