You could argue never rely on anything at all to bring reliable money in.. :) If everyone had that attitude there'd be no Ebays, no Googles, nothing..

Of course, diversification is always smart - in any industry.. web, print, manufacturing... :)

Salary is stable whereas income from Adsense is not.
The con of having a job is that your time is restricted, though.

Adsense is not even close to my main source of income from my websites. If you are only earning from adsense, you should really branch out and seek new ways of earning income.

Adsense is great, but SO many other ways to make income.

However, I am still working towards my goal of adsense being my most profitable source of income.

    Cheers

I've heard a saying before that goes like this...

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Adsense isn't the only game in town. Try YPN, Clickbank and CJ. Adsense makes me the most $$ right now but I know it could end at anytime for any reason. I personally know of horror stories related to Google cutting people off from Adsense. Thousands have been lost for no reason and without any recourse.

Day job is still where it is at. However my Adsense and other revenue channels allow me to re-invest in domains with zero money out of my own pocket each month.

    PM me with questions...

My adsense payments are on hold and whatever little I make I don't think about, maybe 10 years down the road it's money that is sizeable enough to amount to something. In the meantime, my day job is what I rely on for everything.

Yes that is very true, never do put all your eggs in one basket. At least then if you were banned from one e..g adsense then you can fall back on your other sources untill you find a replacement and not be in the dry until then

Geez. The average household earning in my area is above $100k / year.
Have to swing my hooves a lot harder to outperform this with Adsense :p

Adsense income plus affiliate income. I'm hoping that will supplement my income some day.

Hmm, nobody said they quit their regular job for adense ....

It cant be that bad? Especially if you are making enough to support yourself you will probably not get banned for no reason, there will be communication with google involved and you will be able to make proper adjustments to prevent that.

as far as the day job, you can always get fired :)
