Adsense in software application

    I have a software application which shows banners by calling a web page (aspx web page) on my site. The only way to get to this page is pretty much thru the application. The page is refreshed every few minutes. Everytime it refreshes, it shows a new banner ad.

    My question is, can I put adsense ads on that page? and then instead of banners, I would see adsense ads in the application. Google says that you cannot put adsense in software, but technically I am putting adsense in the website and software just shows the page from the website.

    Has anybody done this?

    You could be in trouble for two different reasons here. Even though the ad is on a webpage not specifically in the software, the software is still displaying the ad. Furthermore, since it is refreshing quite frequently according to your description, you could be in violation for artificial impressions.

    There is a rule about it in the TOS, you can not use AdSense with such applications.

    I don't think it is allowed. You can contact adsense support if you have doubts.

    Google stated very clearly that Adsense ads cannot be displayed within any software applications.

    Well, this was done by a LIVE TV Software called TVU Player, which you can get at TVUNETWORKS.com and They used to display Google ads on there software and they were actually showing the webpage of their own which has the TV schedule. But, I now, see that they have AdBrite ads and AdSense ads just disapeared from them.

    So, I think, you should not do that.

    I suggest you contact adsense support and ask them.
