Anyone has experience with placing AdSense on pages in Portuguese?

Does it pay as good as in English?

Not so good from most niches...For some it's not bad.
Brazilian ads suck big time :p

I help manage a site with multiple versions and actually the portuguese version has more clicks to date. the English version has fewer pageviews and clicks. Strangely the spanish ads dont seem to be very on point, so even with more pageviews then the other versions it hardly has any clicks.

I run AdSense in a few pages (I am from Brazil) written in portuguese.

I've never earned more than $30 cents (of dollars) per click, around 70 centavos (of Real).

But my CTR rocks (10% around 3 or 4 websites). I am going for niches. My blog is about tech/developer stuff, I rank first for several javascript related keywords. But geeks don't click ads, not at the same rate as shoppers. So I am building small niches stuff here and there: Plastic Surgery / Botox, Wheelchair, a social network focused on games (it's in development right now), one about Insurance is coming up...

What I have a lot are ideas, and I do my research. But my daily job and college leave me with 30 minutes per day to maintain my pages. Once college is over, I am diving in :)
