Hi all, Quick visual question: I've currently got some AdSense linkunits at the bottom of my vertical (left) navigation bar. The clickthrough rate is decent, but I was thinking of moving them upward so they might get a little more exposure. Something like the pics below: Changing it to something like: I've got the linkunits labeled under the column header 'Sponsored Links', so I didn't really see a problem with it, but just wanted to be sure. What do you all think? Thanks in advance!
Perhaps if you had just one AdSense link unit in that Sponsored Links block rather than three, it would work better. Then that section would be about the same size as the other two. Furthermore, you'd only see "Ads by Google" once rather than three times, which has got to help.
Good point about the 3x 'Google Ads' thing Doc. The sections are actually much bigger on my site though, at least as big as that triple ad section or more. I just mocked up those Halloween categories (and shortened them) to fit on the page here, without taking up too much vertical room. Right now my triple-link unit ad block is at the bottom of the column, I was going to move it above my "Resources" section, but not really gonna jam it between live categories. Thanks for the input. I should probably try to find other places for the ad link units so I can break them up a bit.
If I removed the 'sponsored links' portion, would that be a violation of TOS? I'm kinda new to this, and I've been reading lots of bad stories. I guess I'm just a little paranoid. I wanna keep things straight between me and the big G.
I couldn't find anything in adsense's TOS that says you are required to put "sponsored links" next to their ads. I've been using adsense in the same way as your navigational bar, but without the "sponsored links" for over two years now, successfully. It shouldnt be a problem at all
Definitely won't cause a problem at all since it has already been clearly mentioned that those are sponsored links with their own border. It doesn't matter if it's at the top or bottom. However, if you are contemplating removing the 'sponsored links' portion, there might be a risk there.
