I just started a forum using Invision Power Board. So i'm wondering if there is a way to add my adsense units to it, and if so how? Also I was wondering is there a way to adjust the settings in IPB so that all posts automatically will have html enabled in the options by default when making new posts? For me this would be very useful as I run a forum where people can embed videos from places like youtube etc, and many members dont know that they have to turn this option on so they make a post and only the html embed code is shown. So that the members don't have to manually scroll down to the "Options" and change from "Html off" to one of the HTML On settings each time. So any tips on how I can make this one turned ON by default so people won't have this problem and I won't get so many questions about how to embed videos in the posts? Try lookign through user permissions or in your actual forum/category setup. Not to sure as I don't know my way around IPB as much as VB, but there should be something there about it, considering I am looking at your question right
for your first question ask their support , or edit the files yourself using notepad, for your second question i dont suggest you for allowing html as it can be a big security risk , rather create a new code for that
Thanks, I've been trying to look around in the settings and stuff but can't find any place to put it as HTML On as default. Maybe I need to manually edit some file but I don't know which one or what to look for. Regarding the security risk, what kind of risks are we talking about? The problem about creating seperate codes, or that BBCode thing to create buttons for things like you'tube etc is that one has to be made for each service, like youtube, google video, break, metacafe and any other site i would like people to be able to add videos from. So therefore its much easier if they can simply copy and paste the embed code, and also many users are not used to this BBCode and button stuff and might now know how to use it to post their videos as most are used to simply copy and paste the embed code. But back to the security, what do i risk my allowing such html posts? What threats do it posssess? I don't know much about that. But I've seen many other big famous sites allow html posts, such as f.ex MySpace, where users can post videos in comments etc by simply copy and paste the embed code from various places.
