Adsense in Germany

    Hi
I’ve heard, in Germany, you can’t have an income and your second income be from Google. I’m told, you must create a company for that. Is that right?

I’ve already been working with adbrite and they send their check to germany with no problem (yet). Those words scared me. Is it really illegal to have a job and also get money from google or adbrite?

Is there any adsense or adbrite publisher from germany who can help me?

Best way to clarify this is by sending an Email to google with all your queries.

I live in Belgium, if you're making serious money with adsense you have to register a company. That way you have to declare all your income from adsense so you can pay taxes on it. If you don't do that you can have serious problems, and get convicted for fraud. Not declaring income is a crime here, probably in most countries. The bad thing is we pay 30-40% taxes :(

    Nonsense from start to finish.

If you make extra money in Germany, then you should tell your local tax office about it - Finanzamt - If they deem it necessary, then you can get an Umsatzsteuernummer for your extra income, like in my case with hotel bookings etc.

It makes the Lohnsteuererklärung a little more confusing and complicated but you are then above board. No problem. You need to be earning serious money for this to be a major headache.

The best bet is to go to the local Finanzamt and ask them, if you are worried, then give a false name in consultation. Always stay above the grey line and you willl not get any problems in tbe future.

    @ FaithyTheGreat

You´re wrong. Adsense or adsense generated income besides regular income ain´t against any german laws. You just have to declare the adsense income and pay taxes for it. That´s all.
Maybe you just have to create a company but that depends on the height of income and if you generate the income in a professional way.

It just can't be illegal in any European country to have an extra income.

BUT there are some questions about it:

    (1) Since your income from adsense is converted from $ to euro, you get actually 50% of the ammount. So your 300$ for example will be 250 euros and that is very very low. Thinking all the work needed, i dunno if it worth it.

    (2) VAT. Nobody seems to know (or tell) if you MUST pay VAT on each check google send you inside Europe. Some say you don't, some say you do. For example nobody knows the answer in my country,Greece. And asking the authorities might get you more trouble.

    (3) If you make some money out of adsense, you must declare it as income ? As what ?

Questions that no matter how i searched, i didn't find any replies or a solution.

    ...

Some food for your thought ....
