Adsense impressions much lower than Statcounter...Why?

This past week I've noticed that the Adsense impressions total are way off compared to numbers that Statcounter shows. Before by the end of the day it would be off by like 5 or so, but this week that difference has become much bigger on some of my sites. The following is data from Adsense (first number) and Statcounter (second number) as of this post (about 1 hour left for this day's total) for several of my sites:

    site 1 121, 189
    site 2 40, 99
    site 3 30, 46
    site 4 6, 19
    site 5 92, 112
    site 6 23, 25
    site 7 19, 22

So from that data there are a couple that seem OK, but several others there seem to have a big difference now. I have not changed anything on any of the sites this week at all. This seem to started to right after that day last week where Adsense was very slow update numbers. Ever since then there has been this big gap between Adsense and Statcounter on some of my sites. Any ideas on why this occurred or how to go about fixing it?

data from Adsense shows impression with ads. So your statcounter - adsense stat = number of impression without ads (PSA)...CMIIW

Some people have javascript disabled on their browser. Adsense relies on javascript to display. That's probably why you're noticing a difference.

EDIT: Wait, nevermind. Statcounter relies on javascript too, so maybe they have an adblocker.

Impression is ads display count not page display.

Some pages loads without Adsense ads.(when visitor is quickly moving through the pages). Statcounter count those pages, but not Adsense.

But the weird thing is that this is was not an issue for the past 3 months or so since I've launched these sites. The results from statcounter and Adsense would be very similar by end of the day. And from yesterday's data it seems that 2-3 (one is off by 67 and another by 60) of my sites are actually being affected and the rest are OK. Are you guys seeing such difference in figures from Adsense and Statcounter at the end of day for your sites? I'm just trying to see if it has anything to do with the actual site or if I need to change something?

I've never had my impressions for adsense match the impressions I get from google analytics. Just don't worry about it and try to get both numbers to increase.

Maybe Adsense are serving a lot of PSAs and are not counting those impressions.

So do I look at the ads on my site and filter them out?

Sure. Look at the nature of ads appearing on your site and if they are not related to your niche or looks like psa or mfa ads, filter them using competitive ad filters.

Well I checked that one site that is like 70 off and all the ads are related. Today it seems most of the other sites show the same data on statcounter and adsense, maybe a 1-3 impressions off. But this one site is still off by like 60 impressions. Have to figure out what is causing this since it wasn't like this before.

Here's how you can stop ALL PSAs. Stick some js tracking in the SSI you use for these alternate ads and you know exactly how many impressions Google is not counting.

Sometimes ads just don't appear, sometimes one add appears and another one just beside it doesn't, this is not new for me, I don't use statcounter but I can tell that the difference is big.
